Hello,

The *account* itself under which Task Scheduler is to run must be
passworded. Is this the case?

If you want XP to log you on automatically after you password the
account, here's the procedure:

1. Go to Start => Run
2. Type in (or copy and paste from here)

control userpasswords2 (note the space after "control")

3. Click OK (or press the enter key)
4. In the resulting window, click once on the account you want XP to
boot into without stopping.
5. Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password....." at the
"enter a password" screen.
6. Click OK
7. Enter the new password for the account twice in the window that
pops up, click OK

Hello again,

Have you checked that the Task Scheduler service is set to Automatic
and Start (Start => Run and type in "services.msc" {without the
quotes}).

Also, check the Event Viewer (Start => Run and type in
"eventvwr.msc" {without the quotes} and look for an entry at the time
the Task was supposed to run. Note down any error messages.

Also, look for the Task Scheduler log file - SchedLgU.Txt - located in
C:\Windows. Note any errors.
