did not ask to make a auto recovery disk this time

how could i make one without going thru the whole

backup routine again (time factor)?

Not sure what you are talking about but ntbackup in XP doesn't have an
auto recovery disk.

Or are you asking about the ASR floppy disk that is created with the ASR
wizard?
