Backup XP hardware

Backup XP hardware. I also have a USB 150 G external HD.

What are some restore / backup / methods / for XP home on a new Laptop with
XP Home?

This notebook crashed. So now with a new HD, XP home, MS updates, etc. but
no APPS installed yet, what APP will take a snapshot / backup / of the
entire HD? Then the next times it crashes I would like to restore it to its
state today without formatting, re-installing XP, updates, etc?

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks from New Orleans

Acronis TrueImage Home, this is around $50, if you liked the 15-day trial
version. It creates files that are sized to fit on a DVD, so if basic
image is too bit, it will automatically be broken up.

You can also use it to do incremental backups of the completed system, or
specific data (docs, emails, etc).

You've already gotten a couple of recommendations for Acronis True
Image. I'll add my voice to those who recommend it. There are other
choices, such as Norton Ghost, but I prefer True Image.
