Backup Windows XP Professional Lisence

Hi Guys,
I got licensed version of windows XP Professional . Now I want to
format my Hard disk. So, how can i backup my license so that i can use
it after re installation of my OS.

There are actually two questions here. One is the license key, which should
be on a sticker on the case of the PC. Alternately, there are various
utilities that can find the key for you, such as Belarc Advisor and Magical
Jellybean.

This license key is what you enter during install. Install will halt if
you don't provide a key that matches the install media type (ex. Home vs
Pro, OEM vs retail, full vs upgrade).

The other, important question, is... what will you reinstall from? Do you
have reinstall media, or is this from a partition on the disk? If it's
the partition, be very careful when installing that you format the correct
partition.

Save and restore the file:

%windir%/system32/WPA.DBL

(This assumes you have made no radical change in hardware)

Thanks a lot for your reply. I got to download a software for viewing my
key and reinstall my OS.
