backup to removeable storage

Trying to backup to external HD. The backup software tells me I have to
open something in a management console. A little lost here. Any advice?

A western Digital 160 GB MyBook connected via usb port. I have used this
drive to transfer files and such. works fine.

ntbackup.exe. i go to start<accessories<tools<backup.

A box comes up saying it cannot connect, that I need to start removable
storage services under management console. it then goes into the backup
wizard but only shows my A dr as a choice.

USB2 drives can be mounted as another Hard drive or as a removable entity. I am unsure if the old nt backup you are
using can handle both of those situations.

The backup choice you use needs to be selected based on need:
1) Personal data only?
2) Image the whole hard drive?
