Backup suggestions, both software and hardware

We are purchasing some new servers. Their respective capacities are about
150GB each. One is an SQL server, the others will be for file storage and
retrieval. And it will be a long, long, time before they actuall have 150 GB
of data on them that needs to be backed up.

My questions are:

1.) what would be a good recommended tape drive and format?
2.) for the SQL server we plan on using LiteSpeed as the backup software,
but for the other servers I am open to suggestions. We have used ArcServe.
We do need something with disaster recover that preserves the Active
Directory.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Any DLT tape drive should be fine. We use Veritas BackupExec without
problems which allows you to back up the system state of remote machines and
also has SQL agents for live backups.

I second that.

We use BackUpExec across the board with the Remote agent, Exchange agent and
SQL agent without issue. Well, there are issues but it is generally more
hardware related. Specifically, Dell hardware. My boss really likes Dell
Servers and SDLT while I much prefer the HP/Compaq solutions. My
prejudice....
