backup/restore

I have windows ultimate and regularly perform a full computer backup... If I
get a new pc will i be able to restore this backup to the new pc thus saving
a weeks work installing everything from scratch?? and also will I have to
stop using the old pc immediately in order to transfer the licence info to
the new one??

Yes, you should be able to transfer it on a new PC, but please note, that
new PC must be running a licensed copy of Windows Vista Ultimate also and
the platform must be equivalent, so if the old Complete PC Backup was done
on Vista Ultimate 32-bit, the new PC must also be running Vista Ultimate
32-bit.
