Ok I've read the material but I still don't see how I can clean up or get rid
of whats on D drive to give me more space to do further backups. I have Vista
home basic. Dell Inspiron 1501. Maybe Ive missed something but most of what I
read was to do a complete backup.....thats not what I'm needing right now.

Thanks for any help

On my computer, the D: drive is a partition on the main hard drive that was
created by the computer vendor (HP for me) solely for the purpose of being
the Recovery partition to be used only when you need to recover your system
to its original factory condition. It is not a location for backups. Not
sure what your situation is, but I do not use my D: drive for anything. I
have an external USB hard drive as my sole backup destination.
