Vista wont backup with Acronis Home

Anyone come across this problem before? I have Windows Vista Ultimate on a
Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. I installed Acronis Home (recent version, 10 I
think). Made a backup without issue.. Restored the backup without issue.
Problem is I want to now make a new backup again. I cannot get the system
to backup any more. It gets to the point where it is about to start the
backup and just sits there. Can anyone suggest what is going on? I dont get
it!

Thanks

Is there room on the backup drive for another backup? I have never
used Acronis, but did it restore itself? Are you doing an image backup
or file backup?

I think if I had Ultimate, I would just use the Vista backup utility.

I use Acronis True Image regularly and haven't come across this problem,
however, because I don't do 'incremental' backups I always delete the older
backup prior to creating a new one (incidentally, I do have another backup
on a removable drive, so deleting the original backup isn't going to be a
disaster for me if things go wrong.)

I'd certainly check the space available on the partition just in case you
are running out of space. If you also have plenty of room on your backup
hard drive I'd create another partition and see if it will create the backup
to that. You don't actually say whether you are using Acronis's Secure Zone
for backups or whether you are simply backing up to another drive/partition.

Clark I have to disagree, I would rather trust Acronis True Image than Vista
Ultimate's Complete PC Backup any day. I dumped Complete PC Backup because
of the many problems I had using it. Half the time it wouldn't even backup.

I had similar problems with ATI Home 2009 with new 64 bit Vista Home Premium
laptop. An .exe file of Acronis did not properly execute unless its service
was stopped and then restarted. The problem was never resolved and I got a
refund for the ATI Home 2009.

On my XP and Vista 32 bit machines, ATI 10 Home and ATI 11 Home work just
fine.

Try this:

1) Acronis chat line:

or

2) Acronis Forum:
