W2k Pro Backup, Advanced Backup Options. The box to "Automatically
backup system protected files with the system state" is greyed out even
logged on as Administrator. I'd like to select this box... any ideas ?
Thanks

Start with Accessories/System Tools/Backup
If you select the 'tab' for backup, you get straight to what looks
like explorer. You select the C drive and the "system state" with the
check marks.
C: automatically also saves MY Documents as you will see at the
bottom. You can of course deselect that, I don't. Make sure that
System State is selected then you have to make up a name.

Today I should use E:\backups\C050305 as that gives the drive letter
and todays date. Ideally you should have a second hard drive where you
store that information. I use E: there as that is a partition on my
second drive. If you don't have one now, get it and a lot of troubles
will be avoided in future. If you don't have a second hard drive you
will have to burn the information to a DVD re-writeable. This is where
the advantage of having just a small partition (8gb) for the C: drive
come in.

For your information, my stats are:
Win 2000, Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz
1 Gb memory,ADSL
200+200 GB disks partitioned C:D:E;as 7.81,80.84.97.65
F: G: as 88.65,97.66 for data
