Recently my scheduled Backup no longer works. I get this Error message:

'Error Copying File or Folder:
Cannot copy Outlook: The process cannot access the file because another
process has locked a portion of the file.'

Please help

Close Outlook before making the backup. Ensure it is closed using Task
Manager.

Some common reasons why Outlook will not shut down completely when you click
either the X or Exit:

1. PDA synchronization software with your PDA in the cradle.
2. WinFax Pro (especially 10.02 in Outlook 2003) - contact their support
for an alleged fix.
3. Franklin-Covey Plan Plus!
4. COM Add-ins.
5. Mail reminder add-ins that keep a stub of Outlook open in the background
to check for new mail and fire reminders.
6. Anti-virus/firewall programs that are set to scan incoming and outgoing
mail.
7. Skype - upgrade to the latest version.
8. Infuzer.

Recently I installed the Copernic Desktop Search Tool, which may have
coincided with the start of the Outlook problem. But I opened it & went to
Tools\Pause Indexing, closed Outlook via the Taskbar & ran Backup - but still
got the same error message.

If Coppernic is running;
Exit OL, the backup menu should appear - dont instigate the backup
Exit/close Coppernic - you should receive a confirmation msg
Wait awhile........, then instigate the backup

I just typed a nice long reply about my email to Copernic & their prompt
reply - then I got bumped off the system! They say more or less what you say,
& it works.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
