I have a Windows 2000 Network. I want to have a Backup
Domain Controller in mt setup that can take care of the
Authentication in case my DC goes down. I have tried the
ADC option in Windows 2000 & works fine when the DC in
on. But I want that I only switch on my Backup DC when my
Primary DC goes down. When I start the ADC, when the DC
is not avilable then it cannot find the Domain controller
& it does not show any users in the actice directory. Pls
tell me that is there any option where I can make a
backup DC & keep it as a standby & only switch it on when
the Domain controler fails. PLS HELP....

Your domain controllers must be able to replicate. Leave the second DC
running and everything will work.
