backup and restore

[Jerry]

I am using firefox and up until yesterday my backup and restore always
worked perfectly. Now it refuses to backup and has erased all restore
points, saying I have error 0x81000202, which means my volume shadow copy
doesn't work.

How can I fix this?

Any comments or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi Jerry,

Whether or not you use Firefox shouldn't have anything to do with this. Have
you run services.msc and tried starting or restarting the volume shadow
service?

Yes, I have run services and restarted the volume shadow service. It show
it is running, but when I try to restore it still gives me the same error
and won't run.

Since your restore points are already gone, try stopping and restarting the
system restore service.
