backspace key problem

Hi,

I am using a Compaq Tablet PC TC1100 and i have a really strange and
frustrating backspace problem. All the keys on my keyboard work
fine.......only when i press backspace, instead of deleting one
character many characters go away. sometimes only two go away and
sometimes it just works normally.

this is so damn frustrating. I checked the character repeat and delay
rates but that's got nothing to do with this. I even removed and cleant
the key but there was no dust. It was working fine and suddenly this
had to happen. Please help. Thanks.
