Yes ......but a restore point is only stored on the HD....what if it goes
down??...how will you restore??
Whereas a Backup can be placed on CDR/CDRW/DVDR/DVDRW/another HD/Floppies/etc

You shouldn't.
System Restore and a back-up plan have two different purposes.
A back-up plan is primarily to store in a safe location important
data.
System Restore does not even monitor personal files much less offer
them any protection.
