Backing up files ?

I am going to update to XP Pro from XP Home edition.
What is the fastest and best way to back up my files and
preferences?

You have two options:

1. Use the File and Settings Transfer Wizard from the System Tools menu
(Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Systems Tools)

or

2. Use the Backup utility from the Systems tools menu
