can i automatically schedule a daily backup of certain
files with windows xp. how??

Windows XP Professional has that capability. Window XP
does to but it is usually not installed when XP Home is
originally installed. That option however is on the
Windows XP Home installation disk. You will need to
install it to your machine from that disk assuming you
have XP Home.
