OK,

I've added a short bit of intro audio to my first page. Here it is:
http://www.motorcityrock.com

People who visit my site tend to navigate back to the first page several
times each visit.

Each time they go back the audio intro plays again. Quite irriatating after
the first couple plays, no?

Is there a way to ONLY play the audio when the visitor hits the site the
first time, through the "front door," not when going back to the front page
from an internal link?

I'd rather not set up a separate index.html with a re-direct to index2.html.
I just want the audio to play once a visit.

Possible?

Thanks!

why not use the windows media player add-in? that way you can give them the
choice to listen or not and also adjust the volume. music as a background
sound is usually not well received. at least if you give them a media
player they'll have some control.

also, you should remove spaces in your page names. you'll see a %20 in the
url string. there is a free addin to do it for you here:

Chris, what URL did you find on my site with a space?

sorry, I was thinking about one post and replying to another. the media
player thing still holds true though.
