Background page number

Can anyone tell me how to finally rid my spreadsheets of that annoyin
background watermark page number? It shows a big over-powering "Pag
1" on the sheet. Must get rid of it. Please send some relief. I hav
tried everything

It appears that you are in the page break preview mode.
Go to the view menu option and select 'Normal'. The difference shoul
be immediate

Normal.
