Background outside of main table

I have one table that contains all my info inside and I want to apply a background behind that table just like the following link. http://www.intuitivmedia.net/pro/index.ph
Problem is that the background goes inside my table as well as if the table was transparent. Please help

give your table a background colour - it will be transparent without one.

As I recall, for Netscape (at least older versions) a background color has
to be specified for each cell as well. I'm not positive but that's what I
remember. You can test it of course.
