back button return to forms = can't find page error

Now running ie6 sp2. When I fill out a form on a web site to search for a
specific house/location/price range or part number or whatever, they always
take me to the correct pages but when I back button to get to the form again
for a new search, I always get a "page not found error" and I need to
repeatedly do a "refresh" to get to some part of where I was before; I can
never back button to the form (blank or with previously filled data)....

help?
