Back button not working in custom show

I have created a custom show from a larger presentation. All works fine
except that when i am showing the custom show I cannot 'scroll back' to
previosu slides. When I click the left arrow it takes me back to the
immediately previsou slide but clicking it again does not take me back to any
earlier slide.
Any reason why? or any way round?

Is this a button you added to the presentation? If so, what Action Setting
is it set to? Is it set to Previous Slide or Last Slide Viewed? Last Slide
Viewed does not work like a Back button on a browser. It goes to the slide
that was viewed just before this one. So, if you have slides A, B, and C
and go from A to B to C, clicking Last Slide Viewed would take you from C
to B to C to B to C to ...

I'm guessing your back button is hyperlined to Previously Viewed slide.
You may want Previous slide instead.

Ah! MY fault for not being clear.
I can advance the slide show by pressing the space bar or the right arrow on
the keyboard. Normally however, pressing the left arrow takes me back to the
previous slide - but not in my custom show - where it actually advances me to
the next slide (as does pressing the up or down arrow!).

I am not refering to any hyperlinks or action settings I have created merely
the normal advancing of slides with the keyboard
Thanks

In that case, I have no idea. I cannot duplicate your results. Clicking
left and right arrows in a custom show works as expected for me (not as
you describe).

Weird. Not a clue about that one, but have you tried totally powering down the
computer, letting it sit for a few minutes, then restarting?
