I reported this in B2, but it hasn't been fixed, so I'm wondering if this
behaviour only occurs on my machine...

Begin composing a new message using plain text format. Now move the
insertion point to part-way through what you've written. (i.e. click in the
middle of the text somehwhere). Next, change the account.

On my machine, the window updates to tell me the message will be sent via
the account I've chosen, but at the same time, a carriage return is entered
into the message body at the insertion point!

Anybody else get this?

It looks like it is inserting the signature for that particular account
when you switch at the position of your cursor.

I think you're right, Patrick! I've just added a signature for my account
and went through the same steps, and when I switch to sending using the
account, the signature is added in the middle of the text.

So it would appear that when there's no signature specified, Outlook adds a
carriage return!

That has to be a bug? Should it be adding a signature in the middle of a
line anyway? Is this also a bug?

This could be a bug, or a feature...
I sent it to MS as bug. Let them figure out what to do about it :)
