When I first boot up I have icons on desktop (25) during the boot up I see
them in white then like 1 @ a time I see them fill in.I thought maybe it was
a slow boot problem & tried bootvis & same problem. I also think can be
Norton 2004 & I put in 2005 same thing maybe it was causing the problem but
no. Is there something in computer management I can maybe adjust? I may of
disabled something in the past by accent possibly. Is this a normal behavior
problem?

thanks

Hi, Right click on your desktop, select 'Arrange Icons By' and make certain
that 'Display Desktop Icons' is checked.
Good luck.

Suggestions:

As your main focus can surely be related (startup programs in excess), this
may also help:

To clear and reset icon cache:

Right click the Desktop/Properties/Appearance/Advanced. Use the item
drop box and choose Icon. Change the pixel number by one. Ok your way
out.

Increase Icon Cache (Line 121)

Add Icon Cache Size to Folder Options/View (Line 166)
