I have just installed this. It doesn't seem to noticeably slow anything . I
have now uninstalled it because no matter what boxes I tick, I cannot get it
to add the outgoing Certification message at the end of an e-mail. People
who regularly receive mail from me might get scared if the certificate they
are used to seeing suddenly isn't there any more. Any ideas how to add the
certificate?

Good grief. Do you really place that much importance on a misleading
statement such as the one added by AVG? As for those who are used to seeing
that nonsense at the bottom of your email, I highly doubt anyone would be
concerned about it.

That "certification" is NOT a proof-statement. Although, some believe it is.
Actually, it would be carry more credibility if a disclaimer were to be
added: " Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free (subject to the limitations
of the scanning engine and the virus data base. Errors and omissions,
excepted.)".

I noticed that the new version of NoD32 attaches a footer on outgoing
emails in O.E. However, it doesn't certify anything as being free of
anything. It just states that it was scanned.

I don't know why anyone would treat email (including attachments) any
differently just because a stupid statement appends a message.

That is useless to put at the bottom of your e-mail
Most AV software has the ability to put that there, but most
people turn it off. Nod32 v2.0 will add that at the bottom of
email, but it's a feature that most don't use.

That was the 1st thing I disabled......
Anyone can use a signature line and add things like that ;)

In OE it is Tools ~ Options ~ Signatures ~ Then you can
write something like...
....
As far as I know there are no viruses in this e-mail, I looked
twice and didn't see any at all.....trust me.
....
This should give all of your friends that warm fuzzy feeling again.

Thanks for the replies people. One of the reasons I am mildly concerned by
its absence is that the programme is 'ignoring' a tick-box. If it is not
adding the certificate when told to, what else is it not doing?

Did you try reinstalling it again? Sometimes things don't
work at first, but do after a second try.

Obviously just a form of advertising thought up by the vendor. You
have to remember that as a whole people are stupid, and there's money
to be made catering to the stupid. Just look at the money AOL has
generated.

You mean all the billions they lost
