AVG7.0.300 anti virus - inconsistent

I was running a full scan of my hard-disc and whilst AVG was running I
saw that it had found 14 trojan horses. This surprised me as I do
have AVG protection on when using the Internet, receiving emails, etc.
When it had finished there was no report. Opening AVG showed a clean
scan in the Test Results and no viruses added to the virus vault. I
have XP SP2 op system. Does anyone know what is happening here?

Sounds like similar to what happened on my daughters computer. AVG would
detect various things, but wouldn't do anything about it or even put it in
the final report. The only way you knew there was a problem was by watching
the scan as it was done.

I solved the problem by dumping AVG and switching to Avast. It found the
relevant problems, plus some more that AVG missed, and removed them to the
virus chest where I found them after waiting for me to delete.

Although, if you're an AVG lover someone else here may know another
solution...
