Some like AVG better than Avast and others the other way around.

Personally I use AVG as I have had issues with Avast updating properly on
one computer in the past. AVG on the same computer has had no issues. I
have never had a virus get past AVG yet. I will continue to use the free
AVG product on all my machines (Vista Home Premium, Vista Ultimate, 2 XP
Pro, and 3 XP Home machines.)

I like Avast. Do you like a Ford or a Chevy.

It's all about opinions. They (Avast and AVG) are both free. Try them both
and decide on their merits and what you feel most comfortable with.

Which is better: AVG or Avast? Thanks

Avast is better than AVG. Yes, AVG is very popular but the virus detection
for AVG is far less than Avast. Moreover, if you would try to find it
yourself and look into software reviews on AVG and Avast, you would come
to know that Avast is better. On the other hand, Avast and Avira Antivir
Personal - Free Antivirus come in close on the top spot and are much
better than AVG. I had made a review of free antiviruses sometime back.
And I zeroed in on Avira Antivir Personal - Free Antivirus, though Avast
is also good. Here are links to some of the reviews, you may like to read
(At the end of the day, it is personal experience of a software that also
counts and to decide on a better software takes time and research. So, you
must be prepared to be patient and analyse yourself.) :

What moron would want to do that?

We know you're a moron. You don't have to keep reminding us.
Might as well pitch the PC in the garbage.

Afraid of getting hit in the head when someone throws their Vista PC in
the garbage?

No, I'm not worried.
I wear a helmet all the time.

Good thing.
I'm surprised you're posting already.
Why?

The latest udungtu updates broke compiz .... AGAIN!

Not here, but I use Ubuntu, not "udungtu". My Compiz is the same as it
was before the updates.
Tried re-installing the nvidia drivers...broke the whole friggen system.
Can't even boot into recovery mode.
Its like McDonalds makes that uduntu or something.
Think I'll just give up on that POS udungtu.

I think your lying but that's to be expected from you.

Where's the lie?

You stating that you never lie.

Here's an example: you say NOBODY uses Ubuntu and you always capitalize
"nobody" and, of course, that's a lie.

You also say that Ubuntu is made by geeks for geeks who can't get laid.
Another lie.

Shall I continue?

There isn't much to choose between either with the exception that AVG has a
much more user friendly interface. I've used both, but I have to say I much
prefer AVG.

AVG 8 is a bloated pig.

Neither, both of them are bad for you. Drinking sugar water and paying a
premium isn't too smart either.

Hey, up until now you were OK, but you've stepped over the line.
