AVG update

I have an internet connection and my AVG connects to the server to see a new
update. Yet when I try and download it, it says I have no connection.
Any ideas?

ADSL via LAN, as I stated I have a connection and AVG manages to connect to
its server, then...well nothing, says Internet connection fail, yet website
and email works at that exact moment

Nice info, but is there different servers for Version 7.0?

Check your security settings and your firewall.
You may have security set too high for AVG to connect to the internet, or
your firewall may be prohibiting the connection.
