AVG strange download

While using AVG Free Edition I noticed that he shows little information
window with email scaner status
saying "POP3 .... cust106.dbln.cable.ntl.com"
What is it ??
What is he looking for at cust106.dbln.cable.ntl.com ??

I know, but he often check something at "cust106.dbln.cable.ntl.com".
Is it normal ??
