It's called emc.log ... it was over 4.2Gig. Something to do with the Email
scanner. I deleted it.

I think you may be able to avoid this problem by going into AVG 7 Free, get
into Properties dialog for the Email Scanner ... click Properties button ...
click Logging tab. Change the "Create new log file" option as appropriate.

Thanks for the heads up. Checked mine and it was 1.5 gigs. I now
added it to my "crap cleaner" profile and delete it daily.

I disabled the mail scanner as it interfered with the operation of
MailWasher. Since I never open attachments without first saving them
to disk AVG still gets a good look before I try to run anything.

Where did you find the log file? I did a system search for "emc.log" and it
wasn't found...

On my XP box:
C:\Documents and Settings\Compaq_Owner\Application Data\AVG7\Log

By default the folder structure here is hidden.

Having not installed AVG's email scanner (due to its issues), the only
thing that I have in that folder is avgcc.acc, which is a mere 1 kB.

Just go into the scanner settings and tell the program to create
a log file whenever the size reaches 0 MB.
