Does anyone know how to configure AVG to check incoming emails from pop3
accounts? I used default settings but it takes forever to check anything
and also, I don't get any messages!. Without AVG loading, there is no
problem to get my messages.

Thank you.

Thank you.

It is not a good idea to have any antivirus program check incoming mail in Outlook Express.
This is known to cause corruption and loss of mail.
You are still protected because the antivirus program will kill the virus program if it attempts to
load.

Hi Carol;

I'll take a shot, but if you get no joy, you should post to the AVG forum.
http://forum.grisoft.cz/freeforum/

R-Click on your Systray Icon and launch your AVG Control Center.
Be sure that the "Email Scanner" box indicates that the scanner is fully
functional.

R-Click on the Email Scanner Box for "Properties". You should see
"Personal E-Mail Scanner". Under "Options", "Use the shared test
configuration" should be checked.

Click the [Properties] box. The "Message queue..." should indicate your
default directory ... something similar to: "C:\Documents and
Settings\Owner\Application Data\AVG7\Q". Network "LAN"

In the same window, click [Properties] => "Personal E-mail Scanner
Setup". Click the tab [Properties] => "Email Proxy Server List". You
should see "POP3" "Host Automatic" listed and hilighted above "SMT*".

That's about all there is.

Happy trails,

Known?

First I've heard of it (and never experienced it). Do you have some citation
for this amazing assertion?
