AVG, Avast or Nod32

I've decided to get rid of Norton Anti Virus and try another virus killer.
I'm thinking of AVG, Avast or Nod32. Which one does anyone think is the
best overall? I'd like something good at detecting and eliminating and that
also doesn't put too much strain on the system. Cheers.

Nod32, F-Prot or Kaspersky for me :)

NOD32 has excellent detection and excellent heuristic/proactive
detection and is the lightest AV available.

F-Prot also has great detection, good heuristics/proactive detection
and is also extreamly light.

Kaspersky is heavier than the above but it's the industry leader in
general malware detection it is unsurpassed!

For me AVG and AVAST detection doesn't make the cut.

I've used AVG and Avast! I have no experience with Nod32, so I cannot
comment on it. I am currently using Avast! and have been for over a year.
It has successfully caught and eliminated the few virus laden emails that
have come my way. I've had no issues with it to date. I was an avowed
Kaspersky user but tight finances made me switch to a freeware solution. I
have not regretted the decision and recommend the program. I found AVG too
unwieldy. Avast! was very similar to Kaspersky in that I could set it and
forget it.

I see you use RR-eTrust is better than AVG or Avast in my opinion. It
is free for RR customers. About AVG-I think it has an easier interface
to use than avast.

How does one obtain the free version of e-Trust. I use Road Runner
but never knew anything about it.

TIA

My office uses RR. At home I am on a different ISP.

Ditto Ian. IMHO, stay away from AVG.
