Average Symbol

[Workbook]

I've been looking for a while for the average/mean symbol which is an "X"
with a line over. To find it I went Insert/Symbols/ various Subsets such as
Mathematical Operators with various fonts, yet I have not been able to locate
the symbol. Do you know where I might be able to find it?

If you have the MS Reference San Serif font available...

Goto the menu Insert>Symbol
On the Symbols tab...
Select the MS Reference San Serif font
From: Unicode (hex)
Subset: Private Use Area

Scroll down, it's near the bottom

FYI
Check out the MS Equation editor which ships will all versions of Excel.
It will run as a stand alone app.
Should be in your Program File\Common Files\microsoft shared\Equation folder.
Copy & paste the results into Excel.

Using Excel 2002 it came with MS Equation 3.0, that symbol is not in there.

To get to it through Excel...

Insert>Object>Create New tab>Microsoft Equation x.x

That's also the first place I looked for the symbol but , as I noted, it's
not in there (at least, not in the version I have).
