Avast antivirus question

Antoine

When I make Avast scan thoroughly my disk about once a week, it
'generally' encounters viruses located at the following path :

C:\Documents and settings\[windows profile name]\Application
Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar\...

Besides, I never have a realtime alert from avast, meaning probably
that these virus haven't been activated.

Has anybody else experienced such a behaviour and is there any
specific reason why those virus are there ?

I used to receive them when I used WinMe. They were a Java related
virus or trojan horse that get in the Java cache. Maybe someone can
give you more advice then me. They never caused me any problem other
than the antivirus program deleting them. After upgarding to WinXp Pro
and getting operating system updates I never had that problem again.

Thank you Breck for sharing your experience. By the way, I forgot to
mention : my PC runs WinXP SP1 home edition.
