I'm getting the same message in the event log that "The description of Event
ID 26, Source ISService, cannot be found. The local computer may not have
necessary registery information or message DLL files to display messages from
a remote computer. You may be able to use /AUXSOURCE=flag to retrieve this
description. See help and support. Event log file is corrupt." I get the
same message for Event ID 1, Source ISService.
I also get the same message for Event ID 0, Source DJSNETCN and Source
Earthlink monitor, but it says "part of event service started" instead of
"event log file is corrupt.".
Windows Explorer will eventually give me a message that it has experienced
errors and needs to close. I send the error reports and also Dr. Watson
encounters problems and I send error reports and it says it is creating a log
file.
I've not been able to fing the help and support KB for /AUXSOURCE=flag to
try to fix my problem. Like Michael, I would like to know what that is and
how can I try this fix....if, in fact, it is a fix. Thanking you in advance
for your help.
