Autotext signatures in replies and forwards not working

In Outlook 2003 Professional Edition, the signature that I selected to appear
in replies and forwards is no longer appearing. My Mail Format settings and
checks are all OK and I have tried to check and uncheck in various
combinations using apply and restart to no affect. The autotext signatures
are no longer appearing correctly and the "new" button on the autotext
toolbar is grayed out and unusable even though it is checked also.
When I check my autotext signatures, Outlook seems to have kept the name in
the list, but it has lost all of the signature content.

I'm a little puzzled by your post. Outlook 2003 doesn't use the Word
AutoText feature for signatures.

I was using Office 2000 or whatever presided that, and when I upgraded to
Office 2003 I moved all of my files and folders from the old one. I had
several different e-mail signatures that I could choose from, and I could
select from by "All Entrees". And I have a menu that has a list of different
autotext that are available to you. There used to be a entree for the
signatures; and there also is a "New" button that used to let me make a new
autotext.

I didn't need most of them because of links that no longer applied. When I
removed them and made up the new ones I don't have a selection for inserting
a signature on my menu list. I also used to be able to use the "insert" from
my menu bar and be able to do it from there too. So do you understand what I
am saying now?

I am a quadriplegic and I have a little bit of computer experience, but I
would have to say that I am really a novice when it comes to computers and
things like changing code! If I can get somebody from your web site that I
have already registered for I hope that I can get the problem corrected.

Thank you,

I'm sure that I will be able to get my problem solved here.

I just don't know why it cost so much for e-mail technical support? I think
that $30 is a little bit more than most people can afford! It is your
product that is malfunctioning and you want me to pay for a solution? I am a
quadriplegic and I have to live on SSI, and I don't care what GWB says about
it! It is not enough to live on, and then have to pay for your mistakes!

Perhaps you don't understand that this is a peer-to-peer discussion forum.
Any "you" is another user, not Microsoft.

WordMail (i.e. Word as your editor) does not include an Insert | Signature
command like the regular Outlook editor. Those AutoText entries would have
been in your old Normal.dot Word template. Outlook doesn't use them for
signatures, but you can feel free to use AutoText if you prefer.

Alternatively, create multiple signatures the normal way (Tools | Options |
Mail Format) and make one the default. If you want to use a different
signature for the current message, right-click the signature that Outlook
inserted automatically. From the pop-up menu, select either the name of the
signature you want to use or E-mail Signature to create a new one. I
personally prefer this technique. This is also the technique you need to use
if you want Outlook 2003 to automatically change your signature when you
switch accounts on an unsent message.

I guess that I am not going to get the answer that I wanted to, because it
doesn't work that way on this program as it did on my old one. The question
has been answered so I thank everyone very much!

But let me say this; I was directed here by Microsoft and a link that was
supplied by you. So excuse me for bothering your peer-peer discussion forum
all to hell! I came here for help, and I get insulted for asking for it!

Thank you, Sue Mosher it has been a real learning experience! So go do your
peer-peer thing I will go and see if I can't get insulted elsewhere!
