Autorun/Install.exe not responding

Hi group, I'm new here so please forgive me if I make any mistake.

I recent encountered a problem that I can't seem to solve.
Anyway, here goes the story:
1. I recently found out that you can make certain Win98 based games to
run on XP by changing the compability of Install.exe so I did that and
the game installed and worked fine.
2.I accidentally uninstalled the game
3.When I tried to re-install it,autorun did not run. I then clicked on
install.exe manually but still no respond. Basically nothing happened,
no error message whatsoever.

I tried putting other games (just to make sure that my autorun was
working fine) and they worked.

So I really don't know why it won't respond to this one game when it
installed and worked fine on the 1st installation

It depends. First you may have to check these area's then start fresh.

Thank you so much for your help Kelly.

It appears the problem was in the registry settings. I should've posted
here in the first place and get your advice and not stay awake till 4
a.m. trying to solve the problem.
