Autoplay

My DVD/CD Rom Drives are not opening automatically using
Autoplay.
I have Windows XP Home Edition.
Although I click on autoplay through properties on the CD
Rom Drives and Apply & OK it does not run when I put
disks into the drives.
The drives have been working OK on Autoplay until
recently.
Can you advise me.
