Autoplay--A WinXP Question?

Not sure if this is a WinXP (Pro) SP3 question. Whenever I insert my USB
memory gadget (it contains quite a few files of all sorts, pdf, word mostly;
possibly a picture or two) the computer shows "AutoPlay." Then Adobe
Photoshop Elements starts up. It's a pain in the butt since all I want it
access to the document on the device. Yet I have to wait a little while
while it shows me a nearly endless succession of icons, one for each
document. Ugghh. I probably have to figure out how to shuch the Adobe
software, but is there a way to throttle AutoPlay? It's annoying to have
the computer try to do my thinking for me. I have enough trouble already!

From within Explorer, right-click the drive and select
Properties. Open the Autoplay tab and choose the option
for all the categories, "Prompt me each time to choose
an action".
