Automatically updating birthday year in OL 2003

Just wondering if there's a trick or setting that I have overlooked in
regards to birthdays in OL2003. I have put my contacts' birthdays in the
Details portion of Contacts but I notice that I have some old ones in there
that have not updated in 2 years! This means I have to go in and manually
edit the year so that it is current. Any suggestions?

I simply put the actual year of the person's birth and Outlook reminds me
every year without updating at all.
