automatically logoff using windows 2000

There is one feature in windows 2000 server which is
the "automatically logoff when user logon hours expires",
well, i set the logon hours for a particular user and
enabled the mentioned feature, but when the user's logon
hour expires, nothing happens on the client, does anyone
know why?

there is one website which asked us to set using the
command line using the "net accounts /forcelogoff
:minutes /domain" i did that also but nothing works,
please advise

I too am having a similar problem. I have set the login
hours for my users and enabled the "automatically logoff
when users logon hours expires" (both) in the domain
security policy. I have also set the forcelogoff time
using the net accounts command. When I check the next
day, no users were logged off and the forcelogoff time has
been reset to 0. Does anyone know why?

I've been through this very same thing... "Force Logoff..." only means that
you get disconnected from the network resources...not kicked out from the
local workstation.
However, I worked it out with a tool called SHUTDOWN.EXE that is included on
Win2003 Server or Win XP or Win2000 Resource Kit Tools.
Just schedule SHUTDOWN to remotely reboot computers, and then have the time
restriction set to not allow anybody back in again until when ever...
If this is what you are trying to do?
