automatically hyperlinking words

This may be a programming question, but maybe Word has this feature built
in... I've created a document that has several technical terms. For each of
these terms, I created a separate document (usu. just a paragraph or two)
that explains the term. I want Word to automatically hyperlink words in my
document to their corresponding glossary documents as I type them (so I don't
have to hyperlink them myself -- tedious!). This of course would require
that Word "recognizes" a given glossary term, and knows which document to
link it to.

You can use the AutoCorrect feature to do this.

Use the Insert > Hyperlink dialog to create a hyperlink to a specific
glossary document. In the dialog, type the tem in the "Text to
Display" box. Click OK to insert the hyperlink in the document.

Select the hyperlink. Go to Tools > AutoCorrect Options. Click the
"Formatted text" radio button, and type the glossary term in the
Replace box. Click the Add button.

Now, whenever you type the glossary term in a document and follow it
with a space or punctuation, it will substitute the hyperlink -- which
should look the same except for the blue color and underline.
