Automatically extend the field plus a space

Is there a way to have a field adjust automatically due to its size...I am
hoping that it could be done for a name...i.e you cannot plan for a report
field size when the name could be Fred Jones or Constantinos
Konstantanopolous...
 
Thanks so much, Larry...I had tried this before while stumbling around, but
it didn't seem to work. tried it today, and it did!
