Automatically edits settings

I'm using Office XP on a Windows 2000 laptop.
I have an Access database application that edits such
things such as Default Database, defaultOPSfile,
AutorecoverPath, DefaultPath, Doc_Path, AUTOSAVE-PATH,
etc. in the registry for all of the office applications.
Now there are a bunch of registry settings set to
Y:\\saved documents\<office application>\application data.

This is an MDE file that's doing this. Can anyone
reccomend a fix? A VB editor to edit this MDE file?

It's not possible to change the code in an MDE.
