Automatically Connects when not in use! HELP!!

Our computer has recently started connecting on its own.
It brings up a porn ad and also changes the home page. We
have to disconnect the phone line (we have dial-up) every
time we are done and it is getting annoying. We have IE6
and Windows 98.

Please help!
