Automatic updates

Hi! After retinstalling XPP and using a back up to restore files I brought the system up to date with Windows update. Now, howver, using Automatic updates I keep getting pop-up notifications for the updates I have already downloaded and installed. Is there a way to get the automatic updates to recognize that I already have the update its prompting me for? (I would prefer to keep the updates automatic). Thanks
