I recently our Windows Administration group install
Windows XP Profesional on my desktop. When I right-click
on My Computer and go to the Automatic Updates tab, I
cannot change any of the setting from there. How can I
make that GUI screen active so I can change my update
settings? I can change them in the registry or use the
Group Policy editor to change the seetings, but I would
prefer to change them from that screen.

Is that possible?

Thanks.
Dan

I am an administrator on my pc, so I should be able to
change it, right? How exactly do I change it?

Thanks.
Dan

If not in a domain, use local security policy,
where the policies are in the computer config
section windows components administrative
templates.
You may need to download and install the updated
wuau.adm template in order to see all 4 policies
(if you are not in a domain and never were, this is
likely either not needed, or if needed already there)
