automatic stanby

i set power options for auto stndby after 5 minutes , but
only the screen goes into stand by , the hard drive is
still running , what am i doing wrong?
manually i can put the computer and screen into standby.

You probably have some program running in the background that is causing
disk access. Unfortunately, this can kind of be a pain to track down. Try
closing down as many programs as possible to see if you can narrow the
culprit. You can also shut down background processes via Task Manager's
Processes tab (but you should be careful not to shut down something you
actually need).
