Automatic Power-Off No Longer Works

I just installed Windows XP on my system that used to run Windows 2000 Pro.
Under Win 2000 my system powered off automatically at shutdown. Now under
Windows XP it does not. Instead my screen says that now I can power off my
system (or something like that). How do I get it back to auto power off?

Found this elsewhere in this forum:

Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>Power Options>
Click the APM tab and check the box to enable Advanced Power Management
Support.

Fixed the "problem."
