Whenever I turn on my XP computer, it automatically starts the connection to
my ISP. If I "Cancel" it, it just redials. How can I find out which
program is doing this. I really would like to stop it from happening.

Thx

.

Check for viruses and spyware and remove them. You can
download and update AVG antivirus for free and download
and update Ad Aware for free. Google AVG antivirus and
Ad Aware.

Haz,

A program or spyware might initializing the dial-up connection.

SpyBot S&D searches your harddisk for Spyware and Adware

and

Adaware (similar)

* Perform a Webupdate to have the latest definitions installed *

To disable automatic dial completely (means no program can automatically dial, however you can do manually.)

1. Right click the My computer icon (Desktop), open Manage/Services and Applications/Services.
2. In the right pane scroll down to Remote Accces Auto Connection Manager and double click it.
3. Use the Startup type drop box and choose Disabled.
